I may have fixed this blog. Always click on the "comments" after - "THIS IS A NEW BLOG FOR MYAKKA RIVER RIDERS NEWS, UPCOMING EVENTS AND RIDES." If there are comments, the number before the "comments" will change, but use that one ONLY! This way maybe we can keep it all on one page and show ALL the posts in one place. I will check and see if this sucker works better. Diane D
FYI - we have a couple of changes in the ride schedule: Jan 14-16 Tidewater has been cancelled (45 trailers already signed up) Change to: Greenswamp West (Ashley), Judy signed us up for 10 trailer reservatons.
Feb. 18-20 changed to Tidewater, Rene signed us up for 10 trailers.

Peg and I are going to the Saturday Poker Ride at Little Manatee, not so sure about Alafia though. Taking Annie for her first public outing. She rode well at Deep Creek last weekend.
What a wonderful turn out for the Poker Ride @ Lil Manatee. Saturday's weather was beautiful. They could not have asked for better. Our turn out for the Myakka River Riders was 15 of us. Yahoooooo!!! I got sick on Sunday and did not make it to the Alipha Park Barn Fund Mapsticle. Roberta & Marcha went I think. Did anyone else go? Hope to see you all @ the Metting. D.White
Hay everyone that was interested in camping @ O'leno the week of March 14-20th 2011. Well, I spoke with them again on the 1/24th. They have a Banjo Event that week-end. We would like to change the week-end after. week of March 21st til the week-end. Don & I were going to leave in the middle of the week Wednesday. Let's try to have a trailer count so we could let the Park Know. They normally don't care but since we are a club it would be nice. Lets take a count at the Febuary Meeting. Thanks Debbie White.
The ranger at O'Leno says the banjo festival is held in the regular campground, not the equestrian park. Some of us thought we would like to hear the banjos and would like to keep it for Feb 18th. The ranger also put down that there would be 10-12 trailers from MRR. If you have any questions call Judy
OKAY!!! Which is it Feb 18th was a reservation for 10 trailers at Tidewater. At the January meeting we said March 18th was the Oleno campout. Go to Myakka River Riders web site. Click on Upcoming events. What do we belive. One place or none. To hard for me top get out of work for these camp outs. I'd love to go to more, but if we can't all get together I'm not rejoining the Club for another year. I'm calling the Park tomarrow and ask for myself. Why be in a club when everyone goes different ways.
Judy had already called and talked to the ranger after Deb found out about the Banjo Fest. He said a few banjo people do bring horses, but mostly utilized the other area, thought we'd be fine. He did write down that we were planning on coming (10 trailers) (nothing concrete..not reserved, but just in case another group calls & asks). Said it's o.k to go over to the other area & listen. Being there the same time as the banjos sounds fun to me!...hope we decide to keep it on March 18th weekend, but will talk about it at next meeting & see what everyone wants to do. Had a great weather on the Saturday Deer Prairie ride! :>) Diane P.
I hope to be able to join you guys for part of the weekend - as long as I am not working - Truck seems to be OK for now. Looks like the head gasket sealer (Blue Devil) is working. Now it is up to the work schedule. Do they have electric? Thanks - Lindy
Lindy, Debi White here. They have electric at the barn only. It's Primitve camping. Be carefulon that stuff you used for the head gasket. keep an eye on your temp gauage from now on, Keep your coolant/water level up to where it needs to be. If it runs to low it will set up. You may need a radiator at different time ?
Hay, I have a customer that works at a Publx and they are looking to barrow a Carrage for a display. To all the buggy members of the culb. They are willing to put a sign up for the Myakka River Riders on the display. Please call her to see if we can help her out. ANOTHER Good way to advertise the club. Thanks for your interest Debbie White
Hello to everyone. So far for the Tidewater campout I have a confirmation from, Marcia, Roberta, Judy, Diana & Dan and myself. I think both Dianes and Johnny Lou. If there is anyone else just give me a call. I am sure there would not be a problem to be over our reserved 10 trailers. Just let me know. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you all again. Renee
Neal & I are going, so is Johnie Lou, not sure about Diane P yet. See ya there, can't wait!!! I will also call Marilyn, she may just want to come and ride with us. Diane D
The ride Saturday will be at Alafia at 10:00 instead of Old Welcome Road - not too many people seem to be going so if you are planning to go please call Judy at 941-322-8196.
Due to the fire at Little Manatee - we are moving the ride this Saturday Feb 26 to Rye Wilderness instead. We will ride out at 9:30. Judy is going to be out-of-town so if you have any questions call Andrea at 941-722-3690.
